WASHINGTON, MO. - Borgia alumna Pam (Ruether) Tholen has been hired as Borgia High School’s new Principal, replacing Rob Struckhoff. Struckhoff has been the interim high school principal during the current school year.
Tholen is a 2002 Borgia graduate and went onto receive a Bachelor of Arts in Secondary Education, with a Minor in German from St. Louis University in 2006.
Tholen then earned a Master of Educational Administration from Missouri Baptist University in 2011.
Tholen taught at Union High School from 2006-2010. She, and her husband Taylor, then relocated to the Kansas City area, where she has been teaching in the Liberty Public School system. The Tholen’s have a daughter that is 2, and are expecting another child in the next 2 weeks.
Tholen said, "I know how special and unique Borgia is. It is a place where students come to not only continue their education, but also to grow into faith-filled, inspired individuals who will make a difference beyond Borgia.”
"SFBRHS is a school unlike others I have seen, and I am eager to return to the place where I realized what I wanted to do for a career – work in a school community where I can make a positive difference in the lives of others.”
Tholen plans to begin early this summer.
