FEMA to Provide Home Repair Advice in Franklin and Jefferson Counties

Residents in Franklin and Jefferson counties will have the opportunity to learn information and tips on how to make homes stronger and safer.  In the wake of the recent flood FEMA is working with home improvement stores in several flood affected Missouri counties to provide free repair and rebuilding advice to Missouri residents.  Each of these events will have FEMA mitigation specialists on hand to answer questions and offer home improvement tips.  They will also provide information on ways to prevent or reduce damage from future disasters and techniques on how to build disaster resistant homes.  Topics covered will include flood insurance, elevating utilities, and rebuilding flooded homes.  These free events will take place in Franklin and Jefferson counties from June 29th through July 3rd.  The Franklin County event will be held at Lowe’s Home Improvement in Washington.  The Jefferson County event will be held on the same dates at the Lowe’s Home Improvement in Festus.  Hours at both locations will be from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. from June 29th through July 1st, noon to 5 p.m. on July 2nd, and 7 a.m. to noon on July 3rd.
