Identity of Victim of Fatal Shooting Revealed

The identity of the victim of a deadly shooting in Franklin County has been revealed.  The victim, 26-year old Adam Harness of St. Clair was shot and killed early Sunday morning following an argument with several people at the Sunrise Valley Apartments off Highway A south of Washington.  The incident occurred at around 12:30 a.m.  Franklin County Sheriff Deputies say Harness confronted another man who was smoking outside the apartment.  Harness then walked into the apartment and started arguing with the occupants.  The residents told deputies they didn’t know Harness.  Shots were fired after the confrontation became physical.  Harness was transported to Mercy Hospital where he later died from his injuries.  A 20-year old tenant was taken by deputies to the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office for questioning.  The investigation is ongoing.  Sheriff Steve Pelton expects the investigation to wrap up later this week.  Once that happens, information in the case will be sent to the prosecutor for possible charges.  The man who was questioned following the shooting isn’t in custody.
