Missouri Department of Conservation Offering Archery and Atlatl Course

The Missouri Department of Conservation is offering Missourians the chance to participate in a Beginning Archery and Atlatl program.  The class will be held on Saturday, August 12th from 8:30 am to noon at the August A. Busch Memorial Conservation Area in St. Charles.  The class is being offered for free and will be open to anyone ages nine and up.  The program will teach the fundamentals of both archery and atlatl.  Participants will learn about different bows, arrows, atlatls, and darts.  The course will also cover the proper techniques.  There will also be a strong emphasis on safety.  Once the instruction period is over, participants will have the opportunity to test their newly found skills with hands-on practice.  The Missouri Department of Conservation will provide targets and all equipment needed, along with individual coaching to help develop shooting and throwing skills.  For more information or to sign-up for the class call 636-441-4554.
