Villa Ridge Man Arrested Following Burglary at Dollar General

A Villa Ridge man is in custody following a burglary at the Dollar General in Villa Ridge.  Franklin County Sheriff Deputies initially responded to a report of a burglary in progress at the Dollar General just before 1 am on Monday.  A man had gained entry into the store after shattering the front glass with a rock.  He made it into the store while the clerks were in the manager’s office working on inventory.  The clerks were able to lock the office door and call 911.  A Deputy arrived and observed the suspect moving around inside with merchandise in his hands.  The Deputy ordered the man to drop the items and lay down on the ground.  A second Deputy arrived and the man was taken into custody.  The man had stolen beer upon his initial entry and then went back into the store for more items when he was caught by the responding Deputy.  The suspect, 45-year old Kevin Stallings has been charged with First Degree Burglary and Stealing.  Bond has been set at $50,000 cash only.
