East Central College and Missouri S&T Reach Concurrent Enrollment Agreement

East Central College and Missouri University of Science and Technology in Rolla have reached a historic agreement to help reduce college costs and help students earn a degree in less time.  ECC President Dr. Jon Bauer worked with Missouri S&T officials to formalize the concurrent enrollment agreement.  This agreement allows students to enroll in both schools at the same time.  The concurrent enrollment program has been approved by the Missouri Department of Higher Education for inclusion in a state-wide pilot program.  The program is designed to help students earn a degree in less time while spending less on college.  It will allow students the ability to complete an associate’s degree from ECC while also working towards a bachelor’s degree at Missouri S&T.  Legislation from 2016 allowed the department to establish the program.  Results from the program will be reported back to the governor and the Missouri General Assembly by Januaryy 1st, 2020.  Over the past 40 years ECC and Missouri S&T have developed a thriving transfer partnership to benefit students majoring across more than 40 different degree programs.
