Franklin County Sheriff's Office Conducting Drunk Driving Crackdown on Thanksgiving Eve

The night before Thanksgiving is considered one of the biggest nights for bars in the United States.  This also makes it one of the most dangerous nights on U.S. roadways because of drunk drivers.  Statistics shows the most significant rise in fatal DWI accidents falls between Thanksgiving eve and New Year’s Eve.  Because of this, on November 22nd Deputies from the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office will be conducting countywide saturations to combat impaired driving.  Deputies will also be out in force over the course of the holiday season looking for impaired drivers on Franklin County roadways.  The Franklin County Sheriff’s Office is asking the public if they encounter a motorist they believe to be driving impaired to call 911 to report their actions and location.  For more information regarding statewide safety campaigns and statistics go to savemolives.com.
