Beaufort Man Charged in Crowbar Attack

Felony charges have been issued against a Beaufort man stemming from an assault investigation earlier this month. Back on December 3RD Franklin County Deputies received a report of an assault which took place outside of Union. An 18-year old man and a 16-year old girl reported they were assaulted by a man who struck them both in the head with a crowbar. Witnesses to the assault identified 32-year old Brian Epperson of Beaufort as the suspect. Epperson was arrested on December 13TH in Pacific on an unrelated outstanding warrant. While in custody investigators questioned Epperson in refrence to the assault and he admitted to being in a physical confrontation with the victims. A search warrant for Epperson's vehicle was obtained and resulted in potential evidence of the assault being recovered. Epperson has since been charged with two counts each of second degree assault and armed criminal action. His bond has been set at $25,000 cash only.
