Sullivan Man Arrested Following Burglary

A Sullivan man has been arrested following a burglary in Franklin County.  At around 6 pm on Thursday Franklin County Deputies responded to the 500 block of Delta Lane in Sullivan for a report of a burglary no longer in progress.  Upon arrival they made contact with the victim who informed them he had returned home from work to discover his home had been broken into.  The burglar had managed to pry a door open in order to gain access.  The victim noticed a firearm, a Barnett crossbow, a black powder rifle, and a Playstation 4 were among the items missing.  As deputies canvassed the area they noticed several of the items on the ground near the home.  This led them to a residence in the 3200 block of Lollar Branch Road.  Deputies were able to make contact with the occupant, 34-year old Kurt Mcklendin of Sullivan, and placed him under arrest for outstanding warrants.  Deputies were able to locate several of the stolen items at Mcklendin’s residence.  A warrant has been issued for Mcklendin for burglary, with a cash only bond of $10,000.  He is currently being held in the Franklin County Detention Center.
