Sullivan Man Arrested Following Chase and Standoff

A Sullivan man is behind bars following multiple run-ins with local authorities.  The suspect, 50-year old Randy Ash of Sullivan, was arrested on Friday, February 2nd following a chase with Sullivan Police the day prior.  On February 1st Sullivan Police attempted to conduct a traffic stop of Ash after he allegedly made threats towards a woman.  Ash failed to yield.  The chase was eventually terminated due to his reckless driving.  The chase came after a previous incident involving Ash and the Multi-County Narcotics and Violent Crimes Unit back on January 11th.  On Friday morning, the Multi-County Narcotics and Violent Crimes Unit were able to establish a location on Ash.  Along with the help of the Franklin County SWAT team, Franklin County Sheriff’s Deputies, and the Sullivan Police Department, they were able to establish a perimeter around a residence in the 1,000 block of Shady Lane in the Sullivan area. Franklin County Deputies were eventually able to get inside and apprehend Ash in a bedroom.  He is currently being held on a $40,000 cash only bond for possession of a controlled substance, unlawful possession of a firearm, and stealing of a firearm, all of which stem from the January 11th incident.
