Apprenticeship Grant to Help Local Businesses Train Employees

Thanks to a new apprenticeship grant from the Missouri Department of Workforce Development, East Central College will now be able to help local businesses train more workers.  This is being done through the Missouri Registered Apprenticeship Group (MORAP).  ECC’s Center for Workforce Development will receive $239,550 to develop these apprenticeship programs with area manufacturers.  MORAP is designed to provide workers with on-the-job training at their current employer, along with classroom and hands-on training.  This training will come through ECC’s Industrial Engineering Technology, Precision Machining, and Welding programs.  Each employee will receive an increase in their compensation for completing the program.
