Franklin County Sheriff's Office to Take Part in Child Passenger Safety Campaign

The Franklin County Sheriff’s Office is planning to crackdown on child restraint violations.  Missouri law requires children under the age of eight to be buckled up.  The Show-Me State also requires children under the age of eight to be in appropriate child safety seats or booster seats unless they weigh 80 pounds or are four feet, nine inches, or taller.  The Franklin County Sheriff’s Office has announced they will be partnering with local law enforcement from September 17th through the 23rd for an aggressive Child Passenger Safety Week Law Enforcement Campaign.  This campaign will focus on cracking down on Missouri’s child safety seat law violators and reduce highway fatalities and injuries among children.  Car crashes are the top killer of kids.  Studies show the use of booster seats reduce the risk of serious injury to children by 45 percent.  For more information on the upcoming campaign visit savemolives.com.
