St. Clair Man Charged Following Police Chase

A St. Clair man is facing charges following a pursuit on Highway O.  The suspect, 34-year old Paul Wallace has been charged with possession of a firearm, unlawful use of a weapon, and driving while his license was revoked. Authorities say a Franklin County Sheriff’s Deputy attempted to stop Wallace while he was riding a motorcycle.  He attempted to flee, but due to mechanical problems, his bike was unable to reach 50 miles-per-hour.  When a second deputy joined the chase, Wallace drove into the ditch and attempted to run away, but got caught in a barbed wire fence.  He allegedly pulled a handgun from his belt and fired one round into the air and then dropped the weapon.  He was held at gunpoint and arrested without further incident.  A background check revealed Wallace was also wanted in Warren County on Burglary and Stealing charges.  He has an extensive criminal history involving weapons, assault, burglary, and drug charges.  His bond is set at $25,000.
