Union Police Warning Residents of Ameren Phone Scam

The Union Police Department is once again reminding residents to be wary of scams, both online and over the phone.  The newest scam making the rounds involves a scammer claiming to be from Ameren Missouri.  The caller claims individuals and businesses have past due balances and their electric will be shut off if they don't pay them.  Union Police are asking citizens to talk with their friends, neighbors, families, and co-workers urging them to use caution any time they receive a call requesting money or personal information.  Anyone who believes they have been a victim of such a scam or know of someone who has, is advised to call Union Police at 636-583-3700.
