The Missouri Department of Conservation is reporting a total of 33 new cases of Chronic Wasting Disease have been reported in Missouri through the department’s 2017-18 sampling efforts.  A total of four new cases of the deadly deer disease have cropped up in Franklin County, along with one positive test in Jefferson County.  All four cases of Chronic Wasting Disease in Franklin County were found in the Sullivan area.  These latest findings bring the total number of Missouri deer to test positive for the disease at 75.  Because of these new cases the Missouri Department of Conservation will once again require mandatory sampling for the disease during the opening weekend of fall firearms deer season on November 10th and 11th.  For more information visit mdc.mo.gov.
