NCAA Tournament Semifinals

South Carolina star Sindarius Thornwell says he's fine and feeling good, one day after he missed practice due to an illness. The senior guard, who leads the NCAA Tournament with 26 points per game, says he had a fever and a headache. Thornwell has led the seventh-seeded Gamecocks' surprising run to the Final Four, and it appears he will be available when they face top-seeded Gonzaga on Saturday.

North Carolina point guard Joel Berry II termed his injured ankles as 85 percent healed, one day before the top-seeded Tar Heels face Oregon. Berry sprained his left ankle in last Sunday's victory over Kentucky. He also has been dealing with a sprained right ankle since tweaking it during North Carolina's first-round win over Texas Southern. "I think I'll be effective," Berry said after fully participating in practice. He's averaging 14.6 points on the season but has shot 32.6 percent from the field in the tournament.
