Gonzaga Fights Off South Carolina, Advances To Title Game/North Carolina Knocks Off Oregon

Gonzaga fought off a late South Carolina rally to advance to the National Championship with a 77-73 win in the men's Final Four at University of Phoenix Stadium. The Bulldogs led by as many as 14 in the second half before the Gamecocks went on a run and took a brief lead. Zach Collins nailed the go-ahead three-pointer with 6:45 left, and the Zags held on for the win. Nigel Williams-Goss led Gonzaga with 23 points, and Collins finished with 14 points, 13 rebounds and six blocks. The Bulldogs will face North Carolina in the title game on Monday. P.J. Dozier keyed South Carolina with 17 points and nine rebounds. Sindarius Thornwell added 15 points as the Gamecocks end the year at 26-and-11.
Kennedy Meeks grabbed the pivotal rebound for North Carolina, which knocked off Oregon, 77-76, in Final Four action at University of Phoenix Stadium. Joel Berry the Second missed two free throws with four seconds left, but Meeks snatched an offensive rebound to preserve the win. Meeks finished with 25 points and 14 rebounds, and shot 11-of-13 from the field. Justin Jackson added 22 points as UNC advances to Monday's National Championship game versus Gonzaga. Jordan Bell finished with 13 points, 16 rebounds and four blocks for the Ducks. Tyler Dorsey scored a team-high 21 points in defeat. Oregon ends the year at 33-and-6 overall.
