Francis Howell at Borgia-Postponed and rescheduled April 13th, 4:15 at Francis Howell
Ethan Hughes pitched a complete game two hitter and Union shutout St. Clair 11-0 at Union High School. Hughes struck out seven batters and issued one walk as Union snapped a two game skid and improved to 7-4. The Wildcats banged out 10 hits and took advantage of six errors by the St. Clair defense. Hughes and Drew Reed had two hits apiece and Peyton Burke scored three runs. Daniel Turner suffered the loss as the Bulldogs drop to 1-3 on the season.
Owensville 14 New Haven 3. Austin Mayberry was the winning pitcher and Justin Shockley suffered the loss. For the Shamrocks, Trent Kormeier was 2 for 2 with a double and a run batted in. Owensville moves to 2-3 while New Haven drops to 0-5.
Sullivan posted a 6-3 over Pacific. Blane Tyree was 2 for 3 with three rbi's and scored a run and Christopher Blankenship was 3 for 4 and came around to score three times. Mitch Craft struck out 10 batters over six innings and Jett Young pitched the seventh for the save. The Eagles move to 6-1 while the Indians drop to 3-1. Jake Meininger was 1 for 3 for Pacific with two rbi's. Ryan Sauvage was the losing pitcher.
St. James edged Hermann 2-1 in nine innings. Ty Lewis was the winning pitcher. Chase Racherbaumer and Matt Wade had two hits apiece for Hermann. Wade pitched eight innings in a no decision. Dakota Hackmann gave up the winning run in the 9th and suffered the loss. The Tigers are 3-2 and the Bearcats 2-6.
Nick Schmidt struck out 11 over six innings leading the Holt Indians to a 5-0 win over Washington. Tyler Meyer was 1 for 3 with a double and two rbi's. Holt improves to 6-4 while the Jays drop to 2-2.
Washington 171 Holt 182 in windy conditions at Wolf Hollow. Matt Hoemann carded a 39 for the Jays.
Orchard Farm 178 Warrenton 181 at Eagle Springs. Travis Toebben of Warrenton shot a six over 42.
Sommer Schneider notched a hat-trick and Anna Merseal and Chloe Merseal added two goals apiece leading St. Clair to an 8-2 win over St. James. Anna Merseal also dished out three assists. Kenzie Schmidtke was the winning keeper. St. Clair is 5-5 and St. James 3-5.
Notre Dame posted a 2-1 win over Borgia. Haley Herbst scored for the Knights, now 1-8. Notre Dame moves to 2-5.
Fort Zumwalt South defeated Washington 1-0 on penalty kicks. Washington Coach Adam Fischer described it as a "typical GAC Central soccer game" as both teams battled through 100 minutes of soccer before going to pk's. The Jays haven't lost in regulation. They are now 8-2-1. The Bulldogs move to 4-4-2.
