Local High School Sports-Tuesday, April 11th


Ryan Lohrer pitched a complete game leading the Washington Blue Jays to a 3-1 win over Fort Zumwalt North at Ronsick Field. Lohrer gave up one run on four hits with two strike outs and four walks. The Jays scored a single run in the second and added two in the third. Jace Backs posted two hits and scored a run and Matt McGilvray finished with a double and a run scored. Washington turned three double plays. The Jays move to 3-5 overall and 1-2 in the GAC Central. The Panthers fell below .500 at 6-7 and 2-3. Jake Gentry suffered the loss. Travis Dames had two hits.

Warrenton 16 Orchard Farm 5. The Warriors move to 4-8 on the season.

Union 5 St. Louis Patriots 2. Jacob Fleming pitched a complete game in his first start of the year, giving up two runs on eight hits with three strike outs and no walks. Justin Mentz singled in two runs to put Union on top in the fourth inning. Logan Groff finished with two hits. 

Zach Stahlman pitched a complete game two hitter with four strike outs and one walk and Borgia posted a 4-1 win at St. Mary's. Drew Piontek was 2 for 3 with a double, three rbi's and a run scored. Joseph Schmidt doubled twice with one rbi. The Knights improve to 5-6 while the Dragons dip to 6-6.

Evan Grayson homered leading St. James to a 1-0 victory over Vienna. Drew Bouse pitched a complete game two hitter with eight strike outs and one walk. The Tigers move to 6-2 on the season.

Aaron Overkamp was 3 for 3 with a double and two rbi's as the Hermann Bearcats dropped Linn 13-3 at the Hermann City Park. Chase Racherbaumer was 3 for 3 with three runs and one rbi. Matt Wade pitched five innings with seven strike outs and three walks for the win. Hermann improves to 4-6.

Borgia 158 St. Dominic 174 at the Wentzville Golf Club. Tommy Alferman of Borgia was the medalist with an even par 36.

St. James 181 Owensville 187. Logan Moritz of Owensville shot a 30.


Union Relays-Top three boys teams-Owensville 167, Union 113, Pacific 98.5. Top three girls teams-Union 149, Washington 100, New Haven 96.

Girls Soccer

Anya Castelli, Anna Eckelkamp, Elizabeth Hellebusch and Sophia Landwehr all scored as Borgia blanked Lutheran-St. Charles 4-0.
