High School Baseball-District Championship Game

Noah Stone pitched a complete game with six strike outs and two walks leading the Lutheran South Lancers to a 6-3 win over the Union Wildcats in the Class 4 District 3 Championship Game at Union High School Tuesday afternoon.

The Wildcats grabbed a 1-0 lead in the top of the first but the Lancers answered with four runs in bottom half of the inning. Union cut it to a two with a run in the third, but Lutheran South tacked on two big insurance runs in the sixth.

Union added a single run in the seventh for a 6-3 final. Union ends the season with a 15-11 record while the Lancers advance to the sectional with a 20-8-1 mark.

Brandon Hager led the Lancers with two hits and two runs scored. Logan Groff had two hits for the Wildcats. Bobby Curnutte went the distance on the hill with three strike outs and one walk.
