Local High School Sports-Wednesday, December 6th

Boys Basketball

Playing in his first game of the season, Hunter Mehler came out with a vengeance leading Borgia with 27 points.  Mehler also pulled down eight rebounds and dished out two assists.  He shot 60 percent from the floor and drained two three pointers.  It wasn't enough as the Knights fell to Tolton-Catholic 65-53 at Borgia Regional High School. Will Elbert added nine points and Eli Marquart chipped in eight as Borgia fell to 3-3.

Girls Basketball

St. James got back on track with a 65-61 victory over St. Genevieve.  Riley Whitener pumped in 16 points and Savanna Ricetti added 13 for the Lady Tigers, now 3-1.  Hannah Marcee, Bailey Wells and Ashlyn Rinehart finished with six rebounds apiece.

Pacific remained undefeated, moving to 6-0 with a 47-43 quadruple overtime victory over Parkway West.  Grace Burrows scored 15 points followed by Maddie King with 10.  Delia Toney scored six points and pulled down 12 rebounds and Cassidy Murray finished with eight rebounds.  Jessica Wolf led Parkway West with 15 points. 

Girls Swimming

The Borgia Lady Knights Swim team swam in a tri-meet at the Rec-Plex in St. Peters, finishing third behind Lutheran-St. Charles and St. Dominic.  Senior Emily Reuwer took first in the 100 Butterfly and 100 Backstroke.  Senior Cassandra Caragine took second in the 200 Invidual Medley.

Borgia is back in action with a home meet against Farmington at the YMCA in Washington on Friday.


Brentwood 54 Borgia 27.  Adam Hellebusch, Dylan Hellebusch, Reid Posinski and Bradedyn Frankenberg all won by pins.
