Our parishioner, Joseph "Lance" Leykam passed away Sunday, May 22, 2022 in St. Louis, Missouri at the age of 60 years. He was born on March 13, 1962 in Washington, Missouri to Keith and Maxine (nee' Lamb) Leykam.

After high school, he continued his education and graduated from Columbia College in 1986 with a bachelor's degree in biology. Lance moved to Los Angeles, CA to work for Panavision, pursuing his career and interest in cinematography. He was united in marriage to Karen Peters on May 25, 1991 at St. Francis Borgia Catholic Church in Washington, Missouri. Lance also loved music and enjoyed playing the guitar and dancing. Throughout his life, Lance had an interest in cinematography and enjoyed making movies. His love of fireworks earned him the title of pyromaniac among family and friends and he was an unofficial sommelier when it came to red wine. Lance found joy and interest anywhere his journey in life took him, but his true happiness was spending time with his family and friends. He loved get-togethers, grilling for family events, and the many opportunities he was blessed with to spend time with those he loved.
Lance was preceded in death by his father, Keith Leykam; parents-in-law, Eldo and Rita Peters; grandson, Jack Leykam; and brother-in-law, Larry Skornia.
