The Springfield Cardinals got back to .500 with a 5-2 win over the Wichita Wind Surge yesterday. Dakota Harris had two hits and an RBI in the victory, while Tekoah Roby earned his first win after holding Wichita to two hits over five scoreless frames. The 9-and-9 Cardinals send Max Rajcic to the mound against Wichita tonight.

Mizzou Lineman Gets Picked At Seven

A former Mizzou Tigers standout heard his name called during the first round of the NFL Draft in Green Bay last night. Right tackle Armand Membou was taken by the New York Jets with the seventh pick of the draft. Membou spent the last three seasons with the Tigers. He's the highest drafted player from Mizzou since Aldon Smith was taken at seven in 2011.

Blues Crush Jets In Game Three

The St. Louis Blues came back to life with a 7-2 rout over the Winnipeg Jets in Game Three of their First Round series from Enterprise Center. The Blues scored three times in the first period and never looked back. Pavel Buchnevich had a hat trick in victory, while Robert Thomas finished with four assists. St. Louis trails Winnipeg 1-2 in the best-of-seven series. Game Four is on Sunday.
NFL Draft Round One Recap

The first round of the 2025 NFL Draft is in the books. The Titans selected Cam Ward with the first overall pick in the draft. The Jaguars traded up to the number two spot with the Browns to select Heisman Trophy winner Travis Hunter. The Giants stood at number three to take Abdul Carter and traded back up to number 25 with the Texans to take Jaxson Dart. Rounds two and three are tonight.
The wait for Shedeur Sanders will continue into Friday. The Colorado quarterback did not get selected in the first round of the NFL draft. The Giants, Saints and Steelers were considered ideal fits for the son of Hall of Famer Deion Sanders. Shedeur was expected to be a Top-Three pick early in the draft process.

The Springfield Cardinals blew a late four-run lead during a 7-6, ten-inning loss to Wichita at Equity Bank Park. The Cardinals led 6-2 entering the bottom of the eighth before giving up a pair of runs in both the eighth and ninth innings. Osvaldo Berrios allowed the game-winning run to score in the tenth and was charged with the loss in relief. Tekoah Roby starts for the 8-and-9 Cardinals against the Wind Surge tonight.

The Cardinals bullpen fell apart in the bottom of the eighth inning during a 4-1 loss to the Atlanta Braves at Truist Park. The game was tied at one before JoJo Romero and Ryan Fernandez combined to give up three runs. Romero was charged with the loss in relief, while Nolan Arenado drove in the Cardinals only run in the losing effort. St. Louis is in last place in the NL Central at 10-and-15. The Cardinals host the Brewers tomorrow.

One of the most important stages of the NFL offseason is finally here. Round One of the draft kicks off from Green Bay tonight. The Titans are expected to keep the top pick and select Miami quarterback Cam Ward. Trade rumors are swirling around picks two-and-three which are currently owned by the Browns and Giants. Colorado two-way star Travis Hunter, Penn State pass rusher Abdul Carter and Boise State running back Ashton Jeanty are all projected to go early. The three day draft runs through Saturday.

Teams Defend Home Ice Again In Stanley Cup Playoffs

Home teams once again came away with thrilling victories in the Stanley Cup Playoffs on Monday. The Capitals took down the Canadiens in overtime while the Stars earned an OT win against the Avalanche. The Jets and Kings also defended home ice with wins against the Blues and Oilers. Tuesday features four more games, highlighted by the Panthers kicking off their Cup defense at the Lightning.

The NBA postseason rolls on. The Detroit Pistons put an end to their NBA-record 15-game postseason losing streak with a 100-94 victory over the Knicks in Game Two at Madison Square Garden. In other action, the LA Clippers took down the Denver Nuggets 105-102 in the Mile High City. Both series are now tied 1-1. The action continues tonight with a trio of Game Two contests. The Pacers host the Bucks, the Thunder entertain the Grizzlies, and the Timberwolves pay a visit to the Lakers.

The Springfield Cardinals launched three home runs during a 10-3 win over the Arkansas Travelers at Hammons Field yesterday. The Cardinals scored four runs in the bottom of the third and never looked back. JJ Wetherholt, RJ Yeager, and Dakota Harris all homered in the victory, while Ixan Henderson earned his second win after striking out seven over five innings of one-run ball. State ranked Valley Park posted a 4-1 win at Borgia. Hubbard was the winning pitcher. The Hawks improve to 10-2 while Borgia drops to 8-7. Braxtyn Frankenberg knocked in Henry Zeitzmann with Borgia's only run. Kaleb Hoss pitched well in defeat.

For the second straight year, the United Football League will finish its season in St. Louis. The league announced during Sunday's Battlehawks game that the Gateway City will host the 2025 UFL Championship. The Battlehawks consistently boast the best attendance marks in the league, averaging about 32-thousand fans a game. The UFL Championship is set for June 14th at The Dome At America's Center.

The Mizzou Tigers are adding to their front-court. Former Arizona State center Shawn Phillips Jr. transferred to the Tigers basketball program over the weekend.
